The PALM PROBE UV RADIOMETER is a process control
instrument designed for measuring UV energy within inaccessible
environments. The PALM Probe provides a safe, reliable measurement
solution for UV-web and other applications.
PALM is an acronym for Production Ambient Light Measurement
The PALM Probe has an extremely wide dynamic range allowing it to
measure very low (i.e. fluorescent bulbs) and very high (i.e. powerful
UV curing systems) levels of UV. As the harsh physical conditions
inside a UV curing chamber include extreme temperature variations, the
PALM Probe is designed to withstand these conditions as well as
protect the operator and instrument from damage or electrical shock.
To use, simply hold the base of the instrument and position the light
guide under the UV source.
Features of the PALM Probe:
 | Wide Dynamic Range (100,000:1) Measurements; Autoranging and
zeroing |
 | Measures and displays Watts, Joules, Seconds; displays peak
value Watts/cm2
UV bands- choice of UVA, UVB, UVC, or UVV |
 | Wide range measures light from approximately 100 microWatts/cm2
(µW/cm2) up to 10 Watts/cm2 (W/cm2) within the UVA (320-390nm)
bandwidth |
 | Steel alloy coated with a non-conductive ceramic coating
insulates and protects
the user from accidental shock and the instrument from damage |
 | Very high temperature resistant Light Guide |
 | Battery powered; two user replaceable AA batteries with low
battery warning |
